Privacy Policy
Effective October 5, 2026. This policy explains how Civil-Ready handles information when you use CivilReady.
Information we collect
- Account information such as your name and email address.
- Authentication and security information used to protect your account and sessions. Passwords are stored using one-way password hashing rather than as readable passwords.
- Study activity such as practice sessions, question attempts, exam results, and progress information.
- Technical and anti-abuse information needed to operate and protect the service. Promotional-access controls may use cryptographic hashes as abuse signals.
- Support communications you send to us.
- Payment and subscription status received from Lemon Squeezy. CivilReady does not need to store your full payment-card number to provide access.
How we use information
We use information to provide and authenticate the service, maintain progress, administer access, reconcile subscription status, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, respond to support requests, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations.
Payments
Lemon Squeezy acts as merchant of record for paid CivilReady transactions. Payment information submitted in Lemon Squeezy Checkout is handled under Lemon Squeezy's own privacy and payment practices. CivilReady receives information needed to associate an eligible transaction or subscription with your account and to grant or revoke access.
Visitor analytics and approximate location
CivilReady records page views to understand website traffic. For new visits, our hosting or edge network may provide an IP address and approximate country or state/region; location estimates may be missing or inaccurate (for example when using a VPN). IP addresses are shown only to the authorized site owner in a protected analytics dashboard and are removed from analytics records after 30 days. For approximate city, region, and country estimates, CivilReady may send a visitor IP address over HTTPS to a third-party IP geolocation provider (ipwho.is). These estimates may reflect a VPN or network provider rather than the visitor's actual location. Page-view counts and broad categories may be retained longer. We do not use IP geolocation to determine your precise physical location. Available browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected by this analytics feature.
Cookies and local storage
CivilReady may use session cookies and browser storage needed for authentication, security, preferences, and normal product operation.
Service providers
We may use service providers for hosting, infrastructure, payment processing, email delivery, security, and similar operational functions. They receive information as needed to perform those services or as permitted by law.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal or operational requirements. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your requests
You may contact us to ask questions about your information or request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Some records may need to be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or transaction-record obligations.
